Typhoon Faxai is tracking toward Japan's Honshu Island and will likely strike near Tokyo with damaging winds, heavy rain and battering waves.

Faxai is currently equivalent in strength to a Category 3 hurricane and is approaching Tokyo.
The potent typhoon is forecast to hit near Tokyo Sunday night into Monday, local time, with maximum sustained winds equivalent to a Category 2 or 3 hurricane.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a storm warning, high waves warning and heavy rain warning for southeastern Japan, including Tokyo.

A wind gust to 130 mph (58.1 m/s) has been reported just off the coast of Honshu at Kozushima Island, according to JMA.

It was especially hot this summer, here in France we experienced the month of June the hottest of all time recorded in the world. and the hurricane season is just starting, I hope it will not have too many monster hurricanes, but we can doubt because with the cold currents that will meet the hot currents of this summer.

Well, I hope the Japanese batten down the hatches. Storms, earthquakes, and high seas seem to level parts of the Japanese islands from time to time. Prayers up! :hands:
