    What's in your drinks cabinet?

    Mine contains primarily Cocktail mixers.

I have just bought this 3 litre bottle of 1951 Grand Marnier Cordon Jaune, they will get it to me special delivery, it'll arrive tomorrow.

This 1951 Grand Marnier Cordon Jaune contains no Cognac, I was on the phone with the Sommelier who has verified this bottle and we were discussing it and he said no Cognac and I said okay I'll buy it.

The other drinks in my drinks cabinet are.

    Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 1996.

I consider Tanqueray No. Ten the best Gin on the planet, I'm not a fan of Vodka in Cocktails. Tanqueray No. 10 is a handcrafted small batched Gin, it's called the No. 10 as it's distilled in a still called "Tiny 10"

I have a number of types of Sweet Vermouth and Dry Vermouth.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, a beautiful blend of cherries and oranges and vanilla and caramel, this is my very favourite Vermouth, it has a perfect balance of bitter and sweet, the bitterness of the cherries and the sweetness of the oranges, vanilla and caramel.

Carpano Antica Formula, this is a complex of vanilla, red fruits, liquorice and citrus peel.

    upload_2017-6-15_17-22-53.png

Noilly Prat Extra Dry, this is a taste mixture of nutmeg, vanilla, flora and bitter oranges.

    upload_2017-6-15_17-35-51.png

Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry Blanc, this is a Medium Dry and is a taste mixture of white grapes, pears, flora and citrus peels.

Quie an impressive list, Lucy. You can be an expert in all kinds of drinks.

As for me, I prefer Moscato wines/champagne. Italian or Crimean white (or red) wines (Crimea is very famous for their great wines, Gorbachev tried to do his best to destroy them though, but thank God, people saved a lot).

I don't have a drinks cabinet. Not sure I've ever even seen one except in old movies from the 1940s where anyone who enters a room immediately goes to mix a drink.

I have a bottle of rum in the kitchen. Bought it about maybe 5-7 years ago figuring I could make grog on a winter's night. It's still about 2/3 full.

I must say though, the people at the liquor store were the nicest people ever. They guided me to a recommendation, and even offered to drink it for me if I didn't like it. :)

    Good to see you Oosie.

My alcohol cabinet has several bottles of red wine. I prefer cabernet sauvignon. A nice Kentucky bourbon and a good French vodka. I generally never mix anything, but will add a bit of dry vermouth with my martinis.

30-50 year old bottles of whiskey people gave my grandma.

If I know better than to go to the store, I may open something.

    That doesn't happen often.

Last was some 35 yr old Cutty Sark.

No Brandy, Cognac, none of that.

These were like, bricklayers n plumbers n stuff.

    There's some wine, too. eh.

I still have a gallon of Cubanman wine. (unrelated)

That's pretty tasty, some acid, though.

Only drink my own beer or from one of the 20 microbrews around me. Oh, and the 200 bottles of wine in the wine cabinet ranging from $10 bottles to $200 Opus One bottles. And no, they were gifts.
